Head Fundraiser Weekend
This year's Barefoot Children in the Sand Weekend Fundraiser will be a one-of-a-kind event and you will not want to miss it.
Friday night entertainment are all first timers to Barefoot. Opening our music that night are the duo of Boomer Blake and Quentin Leverich. These two have been around the Trop Rock scene for a few years performing at Meeting of the Minds, Summer Chill and other Parrot Head events around the country. Our Friday night headliners are the exciting Jonas Lorence Band. JLB are taking the Parrot Head world by storm and making quite a name for themselves with their own brand of get your feet moving music. These two acts will open Barefoot with a bang.
The Saturday Hallway Party returns with Two Dudes in Flip Flops. Two Dudes always bring the party and are a staple at our hallway party.
Saturday night opens with something new. The Jonas Lorence Band will be returning along with Boomer Blake and Quentin Leverich for an opening set that Jonas promises "It will be crazy!" Then our headliners for Saturday will be the incredible Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band. Johnny and the guys have played Barefoot before and they are always a blast. As if that is not enough Johnny is going to be sending us a copy of their soon to be released new song "Hotel Beach Party" which they wrote about playing at Barefoot a few years ago. They also plan to film a video of the new song that night!
The charities for this year's fundraiser will be the Lone Palm Foundation and K-9's for Warriors.

Johnny Russler & the Beach Bum Band combine the sounds of Trop Rock, Reggae, Surf, and Calypso by pouring great original music along with songs by Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Zac Brown Band, Paul Simon, Sublime, Beach Boys, and many more into a musical blender to create a strong concoction direct from the lower latitudes!
From steel pans to strong percussion, to driving bass and skanking guitars, the Beach Bum Band has a fun and danceable sound that appeals to all ages.
Johnny Russler & The Beach Bum Band has been throwing beach parties to enthusiastic crowds to venues from Nebraska to Rhode Island, from Minnesota to Key West, from community festivals to college campuses to Parrothead gatherings at Alpine Valley, Tweeter Center, and Target Center as the pre-show entertainment for Jimmy Buffett concerts, and even on stage several times with Buffett as his backup band.
The Beach Bum Band has been performing with Jimmy Buffett for his charity appearances in the Eastern U.S. as part of his Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant openings since 2003. The Beach Bums have performed favorites such as "Margaritaville", "Five O?Clock Somewhere", "Fins", and "Volcano" on stage with Buffett himself. The Beach Bum Band has also headlined for other Cheeseburger in Paradise openings without Buffett, and so far The Beach Bum Band, Buffett and Cheeseburger in Paradise have collectively raised over $400,000 for charity at these events.
The Beach Bum Band has provided the pre-show entertainment for the Buffett tour from 2002 through 2006 at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin, Tweeter Center in Illinois, Target Center in Minneapolis and Wrigley Field in Chicago. The Beach Bums have also been invited for repeat appearances at Margaritaville in Key West.
The Beach Bum Band appeals to Parrotheads everywhere! The warm weather and island themes parallel much of the ambience that "Parrotheads" enjoy, but The Beach Bum Band is NOT a "Jimmy Buffett tribute band". The song list will certainly include plenty of Buffett favorites as well as music from Bob Marley, Zac Brown Band, Sublime, Paul Simon, Dick Dale, Jerry Jeff Walker and many others including some of The Beach Bums originals, offering variety and entertainment for everyone who enjoys warm weather.

JONAS LORENCE BAND
Trop Rock Music Association Horizon award winner for 2021 and Trio of the year, song of the year and video of the year for 2023. The Jonas Lorence Band featuring Tim “the Tank” Casterline and Matt the “Beach Bum” Bongirno is a party band that specializes in their own blend of high energy Texas Trop Rock. The JLB makes a point to cover a lot of fun classic rock hits and beach bar favorites from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Jim Morris as well as plenty of JLB crowd favorites. The goal of a JLB is show is without a doubt to create a fun interactive experience and leave you with a night to remember.
​The Jonas Lorence Band has won multiple awards from the Trop Rock Music Association including the prestigious Horizon Award in 2021; song of the year, video of the year and trio of the year in 2023. "Verona Corona" by the JLB was named #1 song of 2020 by Tikipod Radio. The JLB is based in Austin Texas but you can catch them all over Texas, Florida, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Over the last few short years the band has been invited to perform at some of the top Parrot Head and Trop Rock events through out the south included Music on the Bay, Tampa; Pardi Gras, New Orleans; The Trop Rock River Phlock, Tulsa; Riddles in the Sand, Galveston; the Phlip Phlop Phling, Canyon Lake; the Pirates Ball, Austin; the A1A Beach Bash, Saint Augustine and the Lone Star Luau.
Jonas Lorence is a Trop Rock musician and has been playing guitar in the Austin Texas and surrounding areas for over 20 years. Early on he toured with many original artist such as Lonely Child, the Dealers, Mark McKinney and the Stooch Band. Jonas is also one of the founding members of the central Texas group the American Gypsy Band. More recently Jonas has begun writing, producing and touring with the Jonas Lorence Band focusing on Trop Rock Music. He has won the prestigious Horizon Award in 2021 and song of the year in 2023 from the Trop Rock Music Association.

Boomer Blake
​
Boomer Blake is a Singer-Songwriter whose lyrics & stories fall into the Rock subcategories of Tropical Rock, Coastal Americana, and Caribbean Cowboy. A childhood full of a healthy dose of Billy Joel, James Taylor, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, and the Doobie Brothers means his musical arrangements can span a wide range of rhythms and styles!
Boomer was raised in New Jersey not far from the hometowns of some of the greats like Sinatra, Frankie Valli, Bon Jovi, and Eddie Rabbit! Growing up, he took every chance to sing or perform that came his way. He studied music from public school, to county college, and then university, and performed in community theater, national choirs, theme parks and cruise ships.
Boomer began building a songwriting catalog in college, but only made it a serious focus these last 10 years when he realized it was time to get out of other people's bands and start building his own. His first single 'Smooth Whiskey Weekend' was released back in the Spring of 2016 and immediately hit the Weekly Trop 40 at #15! Since then, he has cemented his place in the genre with fan favorites such as 'Island Lady', 'Down by the Coastline', 'Watching the River Go By', 'Damn those Caribbean Girls' & 'Road to Cayo Hueso'.
His first album 'Road to Cayo Hueso' is a collection of the first singles that he put out over the course of 2016 through 2018. As an independent artist who funds his own music, he’s less focused on putting out albums and more dedicated to putting out quality singles. These are produced at Sonic Boom Studios by Anthony Krizan, a gold record producer and former lead guitarist for the Spin Doctors.
Boomer can be found gigging solo along the Jersey Shore, playing Trop Rock events nationally with fellow Singer-Songwriter Danny Rosado, or in their trio 'Category 3' with Texas-based fellow Trop Rocker Jonas Lorence.
In 2020, Boomer became the host of his own online talk show & podcast, Boomer’s Basement, which is based around the Trop Rock musicians and community as a whole. It airs LIVE on Facebook every Friday night at 7 PM EST and includes interviews with Trop Rock musicians, fans and those who influence the music. Boomer has had the pleasure of interviewing six of Jimmy Buffett‘s Coral Reefers, current band members Mike Utley, Jim Mayer, Peter Mayer, and Brendan Mayer, along with past Reefer, Keith Sykes, and 'original Reefer' Roger Bartlett. In addition, he has had interviews with Scott Kirby, Brent Burns, and James 'Sunny Jim' White.

Don't let those innocent faces fool you. They have ruined more Saturday evenings for parrot heads at Barefoot then you can count on two hands and two feet. They are the soundtrack to the hallway party. Remember...Pace Yourself! This is a marathon, not a sprint. Although to quote from one of our members "Sometimes you want to enjoy the ride, and sometimes you just want to get there".
Two Dudes in Flip Flops will get you there; your hair will be messed, you may be missing a couple items of clothing, you may smell a little like Captain Morgan, but they will get you there.
QUENTIN LEVERICH

Quentin is a talented percussionist who has worked with a wide variety of people and bands. He is a familiar face at Parrot Head events around the country and frequently sits in with Boomer Blake as well as the Jonas Lorence Band. He will be keeping the beat that gets your feet tapping.
